BCS-ICC Skills Updating

Many people have been discouraged from attending training courses because of the likelihood that even if they could get an agency to put them forward for a position using the new skills, most clients will insist upon someone with working experience. The client will often leave a vacancy open rather than take a risk with an experienced contractor who has not already worked with the product.

There is a need for a formal scheme allowing contractors with recent training to gain experience in using their new skills. We are looking into the possibility of creating such a scheme.
